UN 17 Sustainable Development Goals

Why we support the UN 17 Sustainable Development Goals?

For generations we made a way out of no way and nurture respect for the sustenance provided by clean land and water. It is in our vital interest to protect the environment and invest in a sustainable planet and future.

We are indigenous people located in the Atlantic Ocean coastal counties from northeastern Florida, Georgia, South Carolina to southeastern North Carolina.

We are descendants of enslaved Africans who survived the Transatlantic Slave Route with a rich history of “Mak’n Someth’n from Noth’n”.

We are members of a global diaspora united through common language, DNA, arts, culture, food and community through the amalgamation of diverse African tribes, Native American, European and Spanish peoples.

We are global. We are environmentalists. We are survivors. We sustain a culture found throughout the world. We are history. We are change-makers. We honor our ancestors to save the future.

De Ancestors are calling us…to achieve a better, sustainable world for all.

The Gullah Geechee Chamber of Commerce is a proud supporter of the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
